Horafakia

Passing through Kounoupidiana, and following the coastal road past quiet sandy coves you will come to the village of Horafakia. This village is slightly further from the bustle of Chania city, but ideal for a home in a traditional village. The scenic beaches of Stavros are nearby, where the final set of Zorba the Greek was filmed, hence the steep mountain there being named Zorbas mountain. The village itself has the basic amenities required, including a couple of very good tavernas for local cuisine.
